There are not smart people. And then there are the absolutely dumb people. Donnie Jr., unfortunately, falls in the latter category. Being the son of the incumbent President, one would watch one says. Especially to the Media. But not Donnie Jr.
Just like his father, Donnie Jr. has no idea what he says, and what it means to him or his father’s tenure in office. Ever since his election, Trump has faced strong opposition. Both, from democrat-supporters, and even several Republican-supporters.
Democrats are pissed with his overly-right approach to things, while the Republicans are pissed for going back on his electoral promises. Hillary Clinton may not have been the best Presidential nominee, but that doesn’t mean the boundaries of ethics or morality should blur.
What Donnie Jr. said to the New York Times is essentially self-incriminating testimony to the kind of unethical campaign Democrats have alleged Trump to have carried out.
Some think what Donnie Jr. said borders on treason! And that includes, Richard Painter, the Chief White House Ethics Lawyer, between 2005-2007.
Donald Trump Jr. in his own statement to New York Times said that he met with a Russian Lawyer. Then he goes on to explain how what the Russian Lawyer said was vague and ambitious. This was before he concluded with saying, “It became clear to me that this was the true agenda all along and that the claims of potentially helpful information were a pretext for the meeting”.
In a statement on Sunday, Donald Trump Jr. said he had met with the Russian lawyer at the request of an acquaintance. “After pleasantries were exchanged,” he said, “the woman stated that she had information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Mrs. Clinton. Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information.”
He said she then turned the conversation to adoption of Russian children and the Magnitsky Act, an American law that blacklists suspected Russian human rights abusers. The law so enraged President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia that he retaliated by halting American adoptions of Russian children.
“It became clear to me that this was the true agenda all along and that the claims of potentially helpful information were a pretext for the meeting,” Mr. Trump said.
This essentially implicates Donnie Jr. in engaging with a Kremlin-linked lawyer to get dirt on Hillary Clinton.
